George Washington Lodge #4
George Washington Lodge #4 was chartered in 2002, it is the only English speaking Lodge in Armenia and one of the principal charter Lodges of the Grand Lodge of Armenia. Their members come from all around the world including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and of course Armenia. The Brethren of George Washington Lodge, N°4 , believe in practicing our Craft in its purest form while actively applying ourselves to its purpose; with a culture centered on brotherly love, sincere fellowship, charity, education, and a solemn approach to our rituals and ceremonies, George Washington Lodge No. 4 delivers a true Masonic experience.
Our Mission
The mission of the Masons is to foster personal growth and improve the lives of others guided by our three principle tenets.
* Brotherly love. We value respect, freedom, kindness, tolerance, and our differences - religious, ethnic, cultural, social, generational, and educational, and strive for harmony in our individual lives, in our lodges, and in the global community.
* Relief. We take responsibility for the well-being of our brothers, our families, and the community as a whole. We provide relief through philanthropy and community involvement.
* Truth. We stay true to our personal code of conduct and ethics - honor, integrity, personal responsibility, and the continuous pursuit of knowledge.
Fraternity
Freemasonry is the world's first and largest fraternal organization. It is a brotherhood of like-minded men who genuinely care about each other. We aspire to develop lifelong friendships with fellow Masons and their families, and are welcomed at our local Masonic lodges and the world. We believe that each man has a responsibility to help make the world a better place. Through our culture of philanthropy, we make a profound difference for our brothers, our families, our communities, and our future. Masons find satisfaction in being part of a centuries-old fraternity whose traditions and core values are relevant today, and will endure for centuries to come. Masons establish a life long friendship through mutual respect, honesty and sincerity. We care about the welfare of each other and strive to become a life long friends and true Brothers.
Character
Masons are known for their character. Honesty, respect, humility, tolerance. Being a good example in the community and living a virtuous life is essential to every mason.
Tolerance
Masonry is all about harmony. Masons are tolerant and respectful to others cultures, religions, age, orientation, political affiliation and way of life. Talking about politics and Religion are strictly forbidden in a Masonic Lodge since they cause division and hurts our fraternal bonds.
Charity
The Three principle round of Freemasonry are Faith, Hope, Charity. But the greatest of these is Charity. Although Freemasonry is not a charitable organization but it takes pride to provide over 200 millions dollars a year for charity.“To soothe the unhappy, to compassionate with their misfortunes and to restore peace to their troubled mind is a great aim we have in view”. Therefore Charity plays a great role in every Mason’s life.
Family
Future generations are prepared first at home in a loving family atmosphere. Thus we take pride in providing a loving environment at home and foster happiness and care to our family.
Enlightenment
Masonry believes in constant education and self discipline. We strive to mental, physical and spiritual improvements.
Spirituality
Masonry is not a religion but it is based on strong spiritual principles. Masonry elevates our spirituality through the philosophy of the Blue Lodge degrees; we are guided by our faith and respect and revere all God’s laws and creations.
Patriotism
Masons obey, support and protect the laws of the land in which they live. “As a citizen of a nation we are enjoined to be exemplary in the discharge of our civil duties, by never proposing or countenancing any act that may have the tendency to subvert the peace and good order of society. By paying due obedience to the laws under who’s protection we live and by never loosing site to the allegiance due to our country”.
